The Crood family, consisting of six members, lives under the protection of their father Grug (voiced by Nicolas Cage). They spend their days scavenging for ostrich eggs, evading beasts, and listening to Grug recount the same story each night, leading a monotonous life in their cave. The eldest daughter Eep (voiced by Emma Stone) is a curious girl with a personality completely opposite to her father's; she is not content to spend her life in this small cave and longs to explore the wonders of the world outside. Unexpectedly, the apocalypse strikes, destroying their cave and forcing the family to leave their home and embark on a new journey. Stepping out of the cave where they have lived "forever," they are confronted with a vibrant yet dangerous new world filled with carnivorous plants and strange creatures they cannot name, leading them into unprecedented crises. Along the way, they meet a nomadic tribesman Guy (voiced by Ryan Reynolds), who possesses extraordinary creativity and innovative ideas, helping the Croods navigate numerous challenges. He invents many "high-tech" products and teaches them that life requires "thinking" and that walking needs "shoes," among other lessons. The group embarks on a chaotic yet thrilling journey in the film.
