One morning on the street, an old lady accidentally let the baby carriage she was pushing roll down a slope. At that moment, Hoshiko (played by Sō Matsumoto), who had just finished work at the mahjong parlor, happened to pass by. He approached to check it out and was surprised to find that there was actually a girl (played by Chizuru Ikewaki) of considerable age in the carriage! As it turned out, the girl was the old lady's granddaughter, who had been disabled in both legs since childhood. The grandmother felt embarrassed about her and hid her at home, only taking her out for fresh air in the early mornings.
