Michael (Al Pacino) is the head of the American Mafia family, the Corleones. Michael's father, Vito Andolini (Robert De Niro), was born in the Italian town of Corleone. In 1901, Vito's father Antonio, his brother Paolo, and his mother (Maria Carta) were all killed by the Mafia family, the Sicilian family. At the age of 9, Vito had to flee across the ocean to survive in America. Upon entry, a customs officer (Richard Watson) registered his name as Vito Corleone. In 1958, Michael held a party for his son Anthony's (James Gunares) first communion, but that night he was targeted for assassination. Michael narrowly escaped, but two hitmen were silenced. How did Vito survive in a foreign land? Will he ever avenge the blood debts he carries? Who wants Michael's life? And who silenced the hitmen?
