In order to save the villagers in distress, Ashitaka’s right hand fell victim to the curse of the demon god. He had no choice but to leave his family and wander westward in search of a way to lift the curse. Along the journey, he encountered poor villagers led by Lady Eboshi mining iron ore and refining it in the Forest of the Forest Spirit. The white wolf god Moro and her human daughter “Princess Mononoke” San hate Lady Eboshi deeply, believing that she has led people to destroy the forest. Ashitaka, wanting to help humans, is drawn to San, and while he understands her, he is forced to fight against her to aid the impoverished. During one battle, Ashitaka is saved by the Forest Spirit, which makes his position even more uncertain. At this moment, a group led by the man with a knot came to kill the Forest Spirit, and Lady Eboshi shot the Forest Spirit dead, with its head seized by the man with a knot. The enraged spirit wreaks havoc in the forest to reclaim its head. Ashitaka and San decide to join forces to help the spirit recover its head.
