On April 10, 1912, the luxurious ocean liner Titanic, hailed as "the marvel of the industrial era," embarked on its maiden voyage, departing from Southampton, England, to New York, USA. Wealthy young girl Rose (Kate Winslet) boards first class with her mother and fiancé Cal; on the other side, the free-spirited young artist Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) wins a ticket for third class in a gambling game at the dock. Rose is tired of the hypocrisy of high society and unwilling to marry Cal, planning to commit suicide by throwing herself into the sea, but Jack saves her. Soon, the beautiful and lively Rose falls in love with the handsome and cheerful Jack, who takes her to dance in third class and paints her portrait, as their feelings for each other gradually deepen. On the night of April 14, 1912, a quiet Sunday evening, the Titanic struck an iceberg, and the "unsinkable" Titanic faced the fate of sinking, testing the now-budding love between Rose and Jack with life and death.
