As a producer at a film company, Griffin Mill (Tim Robbins) has to choose a very small number of scripts to be made into movies from countless submissions every day. Recently, he's been having a tough time; he faces intensifying competition from Larry Levy (Peter Gallagher) and is increasingly troubled by anonymous threatening letters. He suspects it's from a rejected writer. He focuses his suspicion on a screenwriter named David Kahane, and finds David at a theater, leading him to a bar. The two end up arguing, which escalates into a fight in the parking lot. During the fight, David accidentally falls into a sewer and dies, prompting Griffin to disguise it as a robbery gone wrong. As the last person to see David alive, Griffin becomes a suspect in the eyes of the police. To make matters worse, he continues to receive anonymous threats and even finds a snake in his car... What will Griffin do next in this game?
