Morton Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Greg Jenko (Channing Tatum) were classmates who later reunited at the police academy, helping each other out and eventually graduating together as partners. Unfortunately, they are only assigned to traffic duty, dealing with petty criminals. Later, they join an undercover drug investigation unit called "21 Jump Street," where their captain Dickon (Ice Cube) informs them that their mission is to go back to high school undercover to find the person supplying drugs to students. At school, they learn that the drugs come from someone named Eric (Dave Franco), but the case isn’t that simple. Meanwhile, Schmidt develops a crush on one of Eric's friends, Molly, and Jenko's chemistry teacher also seems quite interested in him. What will be the outcome of their undercover investigation at school? This film is adapted from the television series of the same name.
