This film marks director Seth MacFarlane's debut in theaters, a self-written and self-directed piece, with the titular teddy bear voiced by him. John, a reclusive man, made a wish as a child for his toy teddy bear to come to life and be his real friend. Miraculously, Ted (voiced by Seth MacFarlane) comes to life and lives with John for over twenty years. Now a grown man, John (played by Mark Wahlberg) spends his time smoking, drinking, and using drugs with Ted, living a hedonistic life. Until he meets the beautiful Lori (played by Mila Kunis) and decides to change. However, Ted doesn't like John's new girlfriend Lori and constantly creates trouble for her, even jeopardizing John and Lori's relationship. Faced with his longtime friend and his new girlfriend, how will John handle the relationship between the two? Can he find a balance?
