The male members of the Parondi family, led by the young and promising New Wang, unfortunately, are born in a poor rural area. Therefore, their mother decides to take her four sons north to Milan to reunite with the eldest son, Vincent (Spiros Focás). The arrival of the brothers creates quite a bit of trouble for Vincent; he is kicked out by his landlord and has to squeeze with the family into a cold basement. Although life is poor, the five brothers together manage to find some joy, and the second brother, Simon (Renato Salvatori), a boxer, inspires the third brother, Rocco (Alain Delon), to try his hand at boxing.
