Bryce (Callan McAuliffe) and his family move to a small town, where their neighbor girl Juli (Madeline Carroll) comes over to help. She falls in love with him at first sight, wishing for his kiss. They are classmates, and she tries various ways to get close to him, but he keeps his distance. She loves climbing high up in the sycamore tree to enjoy the view. However, due to construction, the tree is set to be cut down, and she vows to protect it, hoping he will stand by her side, but he backs down.
