Charlotte (played by Charlotte Gainsbourg) is a rebellious 13-year-old girl who finds life filled with misfortune, surrounded by irredeemably foolish peers and unbelievably dull parents. Everything seems so bland, except for a silly girl named Lulu (played by Julie Glenn) who revolves around her and an older, handsome sailor. When Clara (played by Clothilde Baudon) appears before Charlotte, she can hardly believe her eyes. It turns out there can be such beautiful, graceful, and talented angels in this world. More importantly, Clara's parents are very wealthy, making Clara a stepping stone for Charlotte to reach a fantasy world. After going to great lengths to get invited to Clara's mansion, Charlotte's fantasies of a bright future never cease. However, reality proves to be far from the beautiful fantasies, and soon a cold splash of reality extinguishes Charlotte's unrealistic dreams.
