At the National Opera House in Kyiv, Ukraine, a group of masked criminals suddenly stormed the auditorium, taking hundreds of musicians and audience members hostage. Not long after, the Ukrainian SWAT team quickly arrived and breached the area according to established tactics. Meanwhile, several mysterious individuals donned SWAT insignia, infiltrating the opera house amid the chaos to rescue the trapped American ambassador. The male lead, known as “The Protagonist” (played by John David Washington), successfully completes his mission but finds himself trapped in a deadly situation. When he wakes up again, he is told he has lost his original identity and will be joining a secret organization called “Tenet” to carry out a major mission to prevent the destruction of the world. Earlier at the opera house, he witnessed a strange phenomenon of bullets being reversed. Now, the mission he is involved in seems to be connected to reversed bullets and even reversed time.
What is destined to happen will happen; whatever the cause sown, the same will be reaped...
