On the eve of a formal match, Bizen schemed to frame Bai Yidao, leading to the murder of his wife, Chiji (played by Yuko Kotegawa). This caused Bai Yidao to rise in anger and kill the government officials who came to arrest him. After this incident, he arranged a duel with the Yagyu Retsudo (played by Tatsuya Nakadai), known as the "Secret Yagyu," and ultimately emerged victorious, gaining permission to leave Edo with his son Daigorou. From then on, Bai Yidao transformed into a lone bounty hunter, entangled in a deep-seated hatred with his rival Yagyu clan... This film is adapted from the original manga by Kazuo Koike and Go Nagai and won the Best Supporting Actor award at the 1994 Japanese Academy Awards (Kunie Tanaka).
