A deep-sea oil field research team gets stranded and is rescued by the mysterious submarine Alpha. The three members of the research team are taken to a peaceful utopia created on the ocean floor, at the intersection of the equator and the International Date Line, known as "Latitude Zero." Meanwhile, Dr. Malik, who has sworn to take down the captain of the Alpha as his lifelong enemy, plots to destroy this peaceful utopia. The three rescued by the Alpha venture into Malik's stronghold. However, it turns out to be an anti-utopia filled with ferocious giant rats and synthetic beasts called griffons...
