In the late 19th century, young Arsène Lupin, trained by his thief father, diligently learns his craft while keeping in mind his father's teachings of robbing the rich to help the poor. However, after repeatedly escaping police captures, his father ultimately dies under a companion's stone. Time passes, and years later, Lupin (played by Romain Duris) has grown into a suave jewel thief adept at navigating high society. He reunites with his childhood friend, Clarisse (played by Eva Green), while visiting his mother and stays in her home. One night, while following Clarisse's father, Lupin accidentally discovers a secret trial: the ageless woman Josephine is sentenced to death for stealing three crosses that hide the treasure of the French king. Lupin steps in to rescue Josephine, learning the secret of the treasure, which embroils him in a rivalry with the formidable opponent, Poitier. The three of them become embroiled in a complex struggle over the crosses, and the truth is beyond everyone's expectations...
