JR (played by Brenton Thwaites) is a small-time delinquent who idles away his days and finds himself in prison for theft, located in Western Australia, a notorious gathering place for local criminals. In prison, JR's life takes a turn he never anticipated, enduring relentless torment and abuse from other inmates until big boss Lynch (played by Ewan McGregor) can no longer stand it and steps in to take JR under his wing, marking the end of JR's miserable days. With the clever JR's help, Lynch successfully escapes from prison, and during this process, they form a genuine bond akin to that of a father and son. They collaborate with Eastern European crime lord Knox (played by Jacek Koman), making a hefty fortune, and at the same time, JR encounters a girl named Tasha (played by Alicia Vikander).
