At the end of World War II, the defeated German army, in an attempt to turn the tide, summoned an evil sorcerer to call forth Hellboy in order to defeat the Allies. Fortunately, an Allied strike team arrived just in time to thwart their ritual and successfully interrupted their plot, but at that moment, Hellboy—a baby—had already been summoned. The Allies had no choice but to adopt him. Professor Bloom (played by John Hurt) is the adoptive father of Hellboy (played by Ron Perlman), who teaches the boy kindness. Hellboy uses his indestructible body and extraordinary abilities to complete various special missions for the U.S. government. However, the dark and evil nature still lurks within him. In the end, will humanity's goodness triumph over the evil from hell?
