In 1930s Shanghai, Ma Li received an antique dressing table from her cousin for her birthday, but her cousin had committed suicide years earlier due to Ma Li's scheming persecution. Her husband, a renowned professor, had a significant age difference with her and had an affair with Ma Li's cousin. In her anger, Ma Li plotted to kill them, and in the end, she committed suicide in front of that mirror. In 1990s Singapore, lawyer Zhan Xin, motivated by a lucrative reward, compromised his conscience to defend a notoriously evil wealthy heir. His wife bought an antique dressing table, and strange occurrences happened whenever he was in front of the mirror. Later, he was disfigured in a car accident, and to his shock, when the plastic surgeon removed the bandages, he found that his appearance resembled that of the murdered wealthy heir. At the turn of the century in Hong Kong, Aunt Lan (played by Roland) raised her grandson Mai Di (played by Xie Tingfeng) with great hardship and was extremely worried about him. However, she was not pleased with the stylish girlfriend Ruby (played by Lin Xinru) that her grandson brought home. Upon learning that Aunt Lan was wealthy, Ruby flattered her, then murdered Aunt Lan and framed others. She saw hallucinations in the newly acquired antique dressing table and committed suicide.
