Alex (Matthias Schweighöfer) is an unsuccessful German actor who always performs in small theaters, with fans mostly being elderly women. One day, his agent informs him that he has an audition opportunity for a big Hollywood production, but it's for a female role. Thus, he disguises himself as a woman to attend the audition, and the director is impressed by "her" German features. This way, he secretly gets the role as a woman in the film. That day, he celebrates with four friends at a barbecue and happens to meet a beautiful woman, leading to a hotel encounter. However, when he arrives on set, he discovers that the beautiful woman is the famous star Sarah (Alexandra Maria Lara). To his surprise, in the movie, he will be playing a couple in a same-sex relationship with Sarah. Soon, Alex's unique personality captivates Sarah, and they become good friends.
