In 2085, Earth has become a wasteland, and the remaining survivors have all contracted incurable diseases. Joe, a teenager and the last filmmaker in the world, along with his grandfather Shakespeare, a passionate film collector, takes a handheld camera and a collection of films to the last holy land, Athens, to document the revelry and collapse of human civilization at its last breath. Although the film unfolds slowly from the protagonist's first-person perspective, its calm and peaceful tone offers viewers a chance to observe and reflect independently. The background setting resonates with contemporary society, and the diverse international cast adds a universal sense of fatalism to the film, making the last words in the text meaningful in a reality-checking sense. Elements of film obsession are scattered throughout the film, with surprises waiting for the audience to discover.
