Aiming to faithfully recreate the manga, this live-action version of the Maruko family is presented! Third grader Maruko (played by Morinaga Eri) lives with her older sister, parents, and grandparents. The six-member Sakurada family is not wealthy, but they are full of vitality every day. Maruko is just like most girls in real life. She has many creative ideas, loves delicious food and cute objects, dislikes cleaning, loves to sleep in, and always finishes her homework at the last minute before school starts.
