Georgetown was once a quiet town, but suddenly several bizarre murders occurred, all with religious ritual marks found on the corpses; even more cruelly, the killer used electric drugs, rendering the victims unable to scream due to paralysis; yet they were still conscious and felt extreme pain during the horrific process! No one was spared, from innocent children to peaceful priests, causing widespread fear among the townspeople who dreaded falling victim to such brutality! Sheriff Bill of Georgetown constantly recalls the tragedy from over a decade ago when Father Karras, possessed by a demon, committed suicide by jumping off a building. However, he is puzzled: the demon should have been destroyed with the sacrifice of the priest; how could it possibly return to wreak havoc again? Movie-related: ·Brad Dourif played a role in prison, and when asked how he could enter and exit without being noticed, he replied, "It's child's play." This line hints at his previous voice work for Chucky in 1988's "Child's Play," 1990's "Child's Play 2," and 1991's "Child's Play 3." ·The film was inspired by the infamous American serial killer The Zodiac. ·In the movie, the university president says his favorite film is the 1958 "The Fly," and the actor playing the president, Lee Richardson, appeared in 1989's "The Fly II." ·Director William Peter Blatty originally hoped the film could be titled the same as his novel "Legion." However, despite his opposition, the title was ultimately set as "The Exorcist III." ·Initially, Jason Miller was not part of the film. In fact, Father Karras’s corpse was played by Brad Dourif, and the scene had George C. Scott examining the priest's body on the operating table. After a test screening, producers decided the film should feature actors from the 1973 "The Exorcist," leading William Peter Blatty to rewrite the script to include Jason Miller as Father Karras. ·The film is adapted from William Peter Blatty's novel "Legion," published on August 1, 1983, although he was initially reluctant to sell the movie rights until he became the director. Despite being titled "The Exorcist III," there are no exorcism scenes in the novel and script, requiring the producers to intentionally add exorcism scenes during filming. ·William Peter Blatty hoped John Carpenter would direct the film, but Carpenter declined. Famous dialogue: The Gemini Killer: I like plays. The good ones... Shakespeare... I like Titus Andronicus the best; it's sweet. Incidentally, did you know that you are talking to an artist? I sometimes do special things to my victims: things that are creative. Of course, it takes knowledge, pride in your work... For example, a decapitated head can continue to see for approximately twenty seconds. So when I have one that's gawking, I always hold it up so that it can see its body. Killer: I like plays, especially Shakespeare; my favorite is "Titus Andronicus," it's really good. By the way, did you know you are talking to the same artist? Sometimes, I do special things to my victims, some creative things. Of course, it requires knowledge and pride in your work. For instance, a decapitated head can continue to see for nearly 20 seconds, so when I cut off someone's head, I always hold it up so it can see its severed body.
