Hong Kong superstar Liu Weihchi (played by Andy Lau) has been in the film industry for forty years, always yearning to win the Best Actor award. He decides to collaborate with director Lin Hao (played by Ning Hao) to shoot a rural-themed film, in hopes of gaining international recognition at film festivals. To achieve this, Liu Weihchi immerses himself in rural life, personally seeks investments, and refuses to use a stunt double, which leads to a series of absurd and humorous misadventures, showcasing the various facets of the entertainment industry.
