58-year-old mother Wu Ai Cao (played by Pan Li Li) is no different from other Taiwanese mothers: she has a pair of children and leads a leisurely and peaceful life. In her early years, she eloped with a foreign teacher, making her a relatively open-minded woman. However, she unwittingly discovers that her younger son Song Hai (played by Mo Zi Yi) is behaving unusually, with various signs indicating that he is gay. Faced with her son’s unconventional behavior, Ai Cao does not confront him but feels lost and confused. At this moment, her eldest daughter Song Ling (played by Zhou Heng Yin), who has just returned from studying abroad, surprisingly brings home an illegitimate child fathered by a Black man. At this point, Ai Cao can no longer contain herself, and the ethical values she has built over the years instantly collapse. As a mother, she cannot accept this behavior that goes against social morals. Under the pressure of societal opinion, Ai Cao's inner self is caught in a painful struggle. Will she ultimately accept her children's choices?
