In a remote Siberian village, Yegor is a forest guard who fearlessly battles poachers in the jungle while valuing family and earning the respect of the villagers. Just as he looks forward to the birth of his second child, he is diagnosed with terminal cancer. He not only seeks medical help but also resorts to shamanic magic for treatment, which proves ineffective. With no other options, inspired by the plots of ancient Siberian epics, he decides to make a shocking move to completely change his identity and mock the impending death, but the villagers and his family do not agree with his way of saving himself. The film is based on the director's childhood memories, upbringing, and Siberian legends, breaking taboos and portraying the fear that drives people to take extraordinary actions when faced with the incomprehensible.
