Mazi is a private detective who once saved a Chinese man, Yang Haiping, in a restaurant, but lost a finger in the process. To repay Mazi, Yang Haiping offered him money, but Mazi refused to accept it. Thus, Yang Haiping insisted that he take the money to help find his brother, Yang Dejian.
