In 1987, Disney released a very special film, almost entirely featuring animal protagonists, titled "Benji the Hunted." The story revolves around a little dog named Benji. In fact, before "Benji the Hunted," the production company Mulberry Square, led by director Joe Camp, had already released three movies starring the little dog Benji in 1974, 1977, and 1980, all of which were well-received by audiences. The 1987 film "Benji the Hunted" marked a collaboration with Disney to reintroduce this legendary canine! The plot follows the story of the spirited dog Benji who finds himself lost in the wild. Benji discovers that a leopard mother has been shot by hunters, leaving her four helpless cubs behind. Driven by compassion, Benji takes on the responsibility of caring for the four cubs, disregarding the fact that he is far from home, and even sacrifices several opportunities to return home himself. Additionally, Benji must guard against the attacks of fierce predators like gray wolves to protect the safety of the cubs. In the end, he finally finds a suitable home for them. Directed by Joe Camp, most of the film's scenes feature animal performances, resulting in minimal dialogue. The storyline is quite touching, and the music is excellent, composed by Euel Box.
