Singapore's first documentary centered on campus folk songs tells the story of how overseas Chinese created their own music in the silence that followed the closure of Chinese schools in Singapore. The documentary collects precious archival materials and, through a pleasing melody, traces the poetry and music of the 70s and 80s, as well as the new music (songs created by Singapore's youth), revisiting a brief yet vibrant musical chapter and the process of moving from the margins to the mainstream and into history.
