Every harvest season, the countryside is particularly busy, with even Sundays spent rushing to gather the crops to ensure a good yield. On a farm sixty kilometers south of Berlin, Marco (Lukas Steltner) is eager to become a farmer and is working hard to familiarize himself with the farm work, hoping to officially graduate as a farmer. However, he isn't even sure if this is his ideal profession, and his overly quiet demeanor makes him feel isolated from the other apprentices. Lively urban youth Jacob (Kai Michael Müller) comes to the countryside for an internship, and the two young men become friends. They decide to take a break from their busy schedules to spend a day in Berlin, during which their relationship begins to change. Can they face themselves and harvest this feeling? The film "Harvest" won the Jurisdictional Award in the Victory Column at the 2011 Berlin Film Festival. It tells a simple love story set in the countryside, featuring not only picturesque pastoral scenery but also the busy agricultural life of "working from sunrise to sunset." Only the two main actors are professional, while the rest of the cast consists of real German villagers, allowing for a genuine reflection of people's attitudes toward homosexuality in a closed-off environment.
