Approaching thirty, James (Benedict Cumberbatch) discovers he has cancer. Faced with this overwhelming blow, he begins to ponder the meaning of life. In his memories, Barafundle Bay in West Wales is a place filled with nostalgia. Standing at the crossroads of life, he decides to revisit the site and relive the beautiful past. With that, James and his three friends—Miles (JJ Feild), David (Tom Burke), and Bill (Adam Robertson)—set off on a journey to Barafundle Bay. As James's friends, Miles and the others feel it is their duty to support him through this difficult time; however, this somewhat bittersweet trip holds even greater significance for them. Troubles arise along the way, with the friendship among the four constantly being tested, but they all understand that life is like a journey; as long as one keeps moving forward, there will eventually be a day they reach their destination.
