This art film is a puppet show. "Mr. Dong Guo" comes from the story in Ming Dynasty by Ma Zhongxi, "The Legend of the Zhongshan Wolf," which tells how Mr. Dong Guo helps the Zhongshan wolf, only to be nearly harmed by it.
