This animated short is a paper puppet animation. Once upon a time, an old man and his grandson took a donkey to the market. Along the way, they encountered many confusions and made a lot of jokes about whether to ride the donkey and how to ride it. At first, the donkey wouldn’t move forward, and the grandfather and grandson wracked their brains over it; when they met someone riding a donkey, they were mocked for being fools for not riding theirs. The old man thought this made sense and let his grandson ride the donkey; seeing the child leisurely riding while the old man struggled to keep up, a bookworm pointed out the importance of respecting the elderly, which the old man also found reasonable, leading them to switch places; halfway through, the grandson accidentally tripped and cried loudly, which caught the attention of a Buddhist old lady, who scolded the grandfather. The old man thought her words were valid and allowed his grandson to ride again; the bookworm caught up with them and argued with the old lady over who should ride the donkey, prompting the old man to decide that he and his grandson would both ride together. However, the farmer collecting firewood saw this and reprimanded him for not caring for the animal. Unsure of what to do, the old man thought long and hard and decided to carry the donkey, but this led to new problems.
