Detective Kyle Mack (William Baldwin) has a chaotic day; he is first kicked out of his girlfriend Rita's (Salma Hayek) home early in the morning, then finds himself unable to secure a loan due to a bad record. As part of his duty, Mack takes a statement from lawyer Katie (Cindy Crawford), who has been shot on the street, only to discover that she is also a sharp-tongued and tough character. That night, Mack realizes that the day's statement is incomplete and rushes to Katie's house, where he unexpectedly encounters an explosion. He fights off the armed assailants and saves Katie, which leads him into a deadly chase with a spy organization. It turns out that a recent civil case Katie took involves the ownership of a boat, which the international spy group uses for underwater eavesdropping, putting her in danger. With the top-tier spy group pursuing them, Mack is unable to call for support and must rely on his own strength to protect Katie and avenge his fallen colleagues.
