Dennis Quaid will star in the biopic "Reagan," portraying former U.S. President Ronald Wilson Reagan. David Henrie (from "Wizards of Waverly Place") will play young Reagan, with Jon Voight also appearing. Filming is scheduled to begin this fall, with a summer release next year. Sean McNamara (from "The Miracle Season" and "Soul Surfer") is directing, while Jonas McCord (from "The Bible Code War" and "The Young Warriors") and Howard Klausner (from "Space Cowboys" and "The Power of Forgiveness") are writing the script, based on two autobiographies by author Paul Kengor. The film will cover Reagan's childhood, his presidential term, his time with the Screen Actors Guild, and his experiences as Governor of California, as well as his role during the fall of the Berlin Wall and his final days coping with Alzheimer's disease. It will also touch on John Hinckley Jr., whose obsession with Jodie Foster led him to attempt to assassinate the Republican president in 1981.
