Directed by Li Hanxiang, "Buddha Jumps Over the Wall" consists of four segments. The first story describes a mother and son who escape death after offering a bowl of soy milk to Ji Gong; the second tells how Ji Gong helps a vegetable seller escape the harassment of loan sharks; the third depicts Ji Gong turning cherries into luminous pearls to teach a lesson to a bandit; the final story describes Ji Gong using clever tricks to outsmart the corrupt officials and their sons.
