This film stars Gu Mei as "Little Lark," with a group of popular singers making cameo appearances. It is a romantic comedy about the love story between a singer and a journalist. Gu Mei plays the famous singer Little Lark, who comes to Hong Kong from Bangkok for a performance and accidentally meets Chen Hou's clumsy journalist Liu Shitai. In an attempt to uncover the details of a scandal, Shitai pretends to be a big figure in the entertainment industry from the Nanyang region to get close to Little Lark. Amidst the laughter, genuine feelings develop between them. The film features several classic songs, including "Empty Dream" sung by Gu Mei, "Flower Moon Good Times" sung by Fang Yihua, and "Lover's Tears" sung by Pan Xiuqiong.
