The film revolves around the bizarre "Haunted Building Murder Case," telling the story of police officer Zhen Xiaohuo, who encounters a series of perilous and enigmatic mysteries during her investigation. In the late years of the Republic of China, amidst social turmoil and unstable livelihoods, there are frequent cases of young girls being abducted by a red-clad female ghost, only for their corpses to be found in a haunted house, all wearing eerie red embroidered shoes. People in the police station avoid these matters, but the young female officer Zhen Xiaohuo, who does not believe in supernatural tales, insists on pursuing the case.
