Australian director Kia Roach-Turner, known for his gory zombie films that have made their rounds at major fantasy film festivals, presents his new work "The Amazing Spider," which replaces zombies with mutant spiders, pushing viewers to cast aside the ideal of the superhero Spider-Man and confront the deep-seated fear of spiders within humanity. A lonely little girl, neglected by the adults at home, forms a strange bond with an alien little spider she unexpectedly discovers. To her surprise, this seemingly cute and miniature secret pet grows astonishingly under its bloodthirsty desires. After the pets of her apartment neighbors start to disappear one by one, the girl realizes that only she can save her beloved family from impending slaughter.
