A lonely young man establishes an insectarium in an apartment building, treating various insects and reptiles as pets, particularly fond of scorpions and centipedes. His new pet is an alien spider, temporarily given a cozy home, but this intelligent spider has a strong survival instinct and seeks to escape its confinement, continuously reproducing.
