In the near future, technological genius Ken Castle (played by Michael C. Hall) invents nanotechnology to implant command cells into the human brain. Based on this, Castle develops two real-life online control games - "Society" and "Slayers," the latter of which places death row inmates into a brutal killing arena, controlled by offline players. Kable (played by Gerard Butler) is a consistent warrior in the Slayers game, having survived 27 matches; according to the rules, if he wins three more times, he can regain his freedom. A resistance group secretly plots to overthrow the immensely wealthy Castle. They reach out to Kable's offline collaborator in the game - a young man named Simon (played by Logan Lerman), hoping he will relinquish control over Kable, as the latter is about to face Castle's treachery. At this moment, Kable becomes a key force in the effort to overthrow Castle…
