The film consists of two short stories. "Spirit of the Dishes": John suffers from humiliation due to his humble background and is in deep distress. In desperation, he seeks help from ghosts and deities. Guided by the Spirit of the Dishes, John wins a huge prize in a gambling game and suddenly becomes a lavish millionaire. Long-held grievances explode with money as the fuse, and after becoming wealthy, John's personality changes to one of greed and addiction to gambling, ultimately losing all his savings. "Yinling": A-Cheng (played by Jansen) and Ya-Li (played by Jing-Li) are a young couple who have recently married and are still immersed in the sweetness of their honeymoon. They have purchased property and moved into a new home, planning to start a beautiful life in this cozy abode. However, some unexplainable scientific phenomena set the stage for a nightmare, tormenting Ya-Li, while A-Cheng mistakenly believes his wife has lost her mind and is hallucinating.
