The despondent middle-aged man Akira Fujishima (played by Koji Yakusho) once had a happy family. As a police officer, he was forced into early retirement after violently assaulting his ex-wife Kiriko's (played by Asuka Kurosawa) lover. At the lowest point, where the future seems bleak, he receives a call from Kiriko, revealing that his daughter Kanako (played by Nana Komatsu) has been missing for several days. Driven by complex emotions, this rough and violent man embarks on a frantic investigation, visiting people around Kanako, including her high school classmates Morishita (played by Ai Hashimoto) and Nagano (played by Aoi Morikawa), her homeroom teacher Keiko Higashisato (played by Miki Nakatani), and psychiatrist Tsumura (played by Hayato Kuroshima). From these individuals, he discovers that beneath his daughter's angelic appearance seems to dwell a devil capable of bringing misfortune to everyone. Fujishima runs at full speed, while another group of dangerous individuals intervenes... This film is adapted from Akio Fukamachi's detective novel "Endless Desire."
