"Animals" tells the story of the contradictory forces of desire, passion, and reason that shape life. Mati and her group of male friends control their village, mock the neighbors, and harass the girls. But when Mati's closest friend Sebastian falls in love with her, and Mati unexpectedly becomes friends with her enemy Carla, the situation quietly changes; at the same time, Mati's parents face a decision: which is more important, appearance or reality? Director Katharina Mückstein was formerly a film producer and became a director in 2013 with the film "Talia," for which she won the "Best Film" award at the Austrian Film Festival and was nominated for the "Golden Eye" award at the Zurich Film Festival.
