Richie (played by Mario Casas) does not have a close relationship with his mother, as she abandoned him when he was twelve years old. Richie's mother, Plá (played by Ángela Molina), is a prostitute entangled with many thugs and often finds herself in dangerous situations along the river, ultimately leading to her imprisonment. Years pass quickly, and Plá's sentence is about to end. To celebrate his mother's release, Richie prepares a big gift for her—a brothel named Hiroshima Club—so that she no longer has to sell her body on the streets. However, Richie does not expect Plá, having seen much of the world, to be indifferent about the brothel.
