The Big Guy (played by Andy Lau) encounters the policewoman Li Fengyi (played by Cecilia Cheung) during a strip show while she is on a raid. Meanwhile, the major crime unit is investigating a murder case involving Indians nearby. When the Big Guy tries to escape, he unexpectedly crosses paths with an Indian fugitive. Ultimately, the fugitive escapes, and the Big Guy is mistaken for a suspect and taken back to the police station. In fact, the Big Guy was once a martial monk in the mainland, but after the tragic death of his friend Xiaocui, he experienced overwhelming grief that led him to accidentally kill a bird while meditating under a tree. After sitting in meditation for seven days and nights over the bird, he gained the ability to see the connection between cause and effect—seeing the results allows him to see the reasons behind them. He realizes that Xiaocui's death and the killing of the bird are both interconnected. Unable to accept this calmly, he returned to layman's life. This time, he sees Li Fengyi and witnesses Japanese soldiers committing murder, leading him to know that her sins are too heavy and she will face disaster.
