In this film, Goofy and his son Max from "A Goofy Family" team up. Max is now a full-blown teenager who wants to go to the prom with a girl from school, but his dad insists on taking him fishing instead. The generational conflict puts their father-son relationship to the test. Initially, this film, presented as a "movie version cartoon," surprisingly grossed over 35 million dollars, while its production cost was only comparable to that of a television cartoon, making its profit margin quite unexpected. The theme of this film is actually thought-provoking as it explores some generational gap issues between parents and children. It's not just a simple comedy; although presented in an exaggerated cartoonish style, it reveals a delicate side of parental affection. Despite the limitations in production quality of "movie version cartoons" compared to "classic animations," the storyline is well arranged, and the songs are quite enjoyable! It's no wonder that after the success of this film, the production team was promoted from the television animation department to the movie production department by Disney! Their first animated movie was 1999's "Tarzan"!
