Tess Thorne (played by Maria Bello), a moderately well-known thriller novelist, is invited to give a lecture in an unfamiliar location. Lost and disoriented, her car gets a flat tire in an area with no mobile signal. While she is at a loss, a burly truck driver (played by Will Harris) shows up and offers to help her change the tire. However, this brute has nefarious intentions and brutally assaults Tess, eventually abandoning her in a pit with the bodies of three or four women. Tess manages to escape and stumbles her way home; she tries to report the incident to the police but ultimately remains silent. In the following days, Tess sorts through the chaos, determined to take revenge on the beast in her own way... This film is adapted from a short story by Stephen King.
