The new work by director James Marsh, "The Writer Who Doesn't Dance: Waiting for Beckett," presents a visual biography that turns its lens on the legendary life of Irish literary giant Samuel Beckett, known for "Waiting for Godot." As applause rings out, yet the glory fades, Nobel Prize-winning Beckett's appearance resembles an absurd performance, unfolding a dialogue between writers. Veteran Irish actor Gabriel Byrne takes on two roles, masterfully portraying Beckett's self-interrogation and joins forces with rising star Daisy Edgar-Jones to depict the various stages of Beckett's life. From the youthful, proud idealism to a profound and introspective wisdom, the film features smooth and elegant camerawork, prompting deep reflection.
