On the Dutch Caribbean island of Curaçao, an 11-year-old girl named Kanza searches for her own path to adulthood between her atheistic father and devout grandfather. This is a film that has been brewing in director Eshi Janga's mind for ten years: his mother is Dutch and his father is Curaçaoan, corresponding to the roles of father and grandfather in the film. The protagonist is entirely based on his memories of his sister. Janga selected the inexperienced actress Tiara from dozens of female students, and her tense performance became a highlight of the film. The wilderness of Curaçao and the Caribbean waves bring a touch of magical realism to the story. The film won the Best Film Award at the 2020 Dutch Film Festival's Golden Calf Awards
