"Citizenfour" will provide a highly accurate account of the "Prism" scandal, revealing the true story of Edward Snowden, who found himself at the center of the storm. The documentary's director, Laura Poitras, is also a key figure in the "Prism" event; it was with her assistance and that of Guardian journalist Glenn Greenwald that Snowden was able to publicly disclose the NSA's surveillance scandal. Poitras and Greenwald were subsequently awarded the Pulitzer Prize. The title "Citizenfour" is the anonymous codename used by Snowden in early email communications with Poitras. In June 2013, when Poitras first traveled to Hong Kong to meet Snowden, her camera captured the real scenes from that time.
